Dr. Tuot is faculty in the Division of Nephrology at ZSFG, Director of the San Francisco Health Network electronic consultation program, and Director of the UCSF Center for Innovation in Access and Quality at ZSFG. Her research interests include primary care management of chronic kidney disease (CKD), provider-patient communication, CKD awareness, patient self-management, and implementation science. She is currently focused on the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions that increase patient awareness, self-efficacy, and self-management of kidney health, as well as health system changes that translate evidence into practice for patients with kidney disease and enhance access to specialty care. Her long-term goals are to implement sustainable programs within primary care settings that improve health outcomes among CKD patients, particularly among vulnerable populations, as they are at greatest risk of CKD-associated morbidity and mortality.
