Liz Goldman, MD, MAS
Dr. Goldman is a practicing primary care physician at Zuckerberg San Francisco General and is the Medical Director for CalAIM Enhanced Care Management Program in the San Francisco Health Network and medical lead for the Emergency Department Case Management team, an innovative interdisciplinary intensive case management program assisting the most socially and medically complex clients in San Francisco. In addition, she also works as a Clinical Informaticist in the DPH Office of Health Informatics where she is the Director of Research and Evaluation Analytics. Finally, she supervises residents in the Richard Fine People's Clinic at Zuckerberg San Francisco General. Her research and policy work focuses on improving and transforming health systems for underserved diverse populations. She has developed and implemented systems innovations that improve care transitions, value of care, and care coordination efforts across medical and behavioral health settings.
As part of her work to improve the science of quality measurement, she led the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development Validation Project which assessed the accuracy of California patient discharge data, and was awarded AHRQ grant funding to evaluate the impact of administrative data quality on hospital performance metrics. Her expertise in using administrative data for quality assessments has been nationally recognized, through her participation in the AHRQ Quality Indicator Expert Panel.
