Project PETIT is a women’s preventive health mini-clinic designed specifically as a Quality Improvement project for the women admitted to SFGH’s inpatient psychiatry units. The psychiatry and the obstetrics/gynecology departments work closely in delivering women’s health services including screening pap smears, sexually transmitted infections counseling and testing, contraceptive health counseling and placement, and overall sexual health education for SFGH’s admitted women. The project was feasible to implement and acceptable to the women it served.
